union county man charged with possession of child pornography

NEWARK, N.J. - A Union County, N.J., man was arrested today for allegedly possessing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.
Nicholas Sysock, 53, of Rahway, N.J., is charged by Complaint with one count of possessing child pornography. He made his initial court appearance this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Patty Shwartz in Newark federal court.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:
Between May 2008 and March 2011, Sysock purchased multiple videos containing child pornography from a company in Canada and had them shipped to his residence. During a search of Sysock’s residence, federal investigators found DVDs containing child pornography as well as images of naked children.
The possession of child pornography count with which Sysock is charged is punishable by a maximum potential penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
U.S. Attorney Fishman credited inspectors with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, under the direction of Inspector in Charge Philip R. Bartlett, for the investigation leading to the arrest.
The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney David M. Eskew of the U.S. Attorney’s Office General Crimes Unit in Newark.
The charges and allegations contained in the Complaint are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty
